I’m thankful for the LIGHT provided to us by GOD. I do my best to reflect HIS LIGHT and let it exude from my being.

I am most proud of the courage and tenacity that we, as black women possess.

-Anneka A. Miller-

One word that best describes you?
I manage to oppose the weight and pressures from life and to continue to rise like a buoy, while driving and holding others up as well. I’ve made a coginzant decision to swim and never sink.

What do you love about being a black woman?
What I love about being a black woman is that we are a resilient and diverse people. We are the caregivers of all and are the backbones of our men. We are regal, nurturing and most of all, we have proven to be quite capable of bearing the weight of the world.

What is your favorite quote?
“Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal.” ~Pamela Vaull Starr

-LaToya Morgan Anderson-

One word that best describes you?
I am very versatile and have several creative interests. I can adapt to most situations by revealing different sides of my personality, which makes me interesting.

What do you love about being a black woman?
I love the way we ooze sassiness, sexiness and flavor without trying. I love our curves and the many shapes, sizes and hues that we come in…knowing that we are all beautiful. I love the fact that we are creatively fashionable and unique trendsetters in fashion and hair.

I love that we are who we are, unapologetically. We are strong and soft. Valiant and vulnerable. We are so many things to so many people but we do it with grace and ease, doing what we have to do to maintain, nourish and protect our families.

What is your favorite quote?
“If all the world’s a stage, then thespians rule the world.”

-J’Zhanel JZ Cole-

One word that best describes you?
I am drawn to creating things that have yet to be created. I believe that in order to be a visionary, you have to think outside of the box and always be producing your next masterpieces.

This is the reason why I am always working on my next project even in the midst of completing my current projects because I love having my hands in a lot of different things at one time because it keeps me sharp and on top of my game!

What do you love about being a black woman?
I love that we are a race of people who come in a variety of different forms of beauty. Whether we are rocking a natural, locks, weave, wig or completely bald, we seem to rock our beauty so effortlessly.

We have a certain confidence about us that just exudes from our walk, our talk, our swag, the way we raise our children, love our black men, and just handle our business.

In today’s society there are so many other cultures of people attempting to look like us from getting hip and butt implants, tanning, lip injections and breast implants to achieve our natural curvaceous frames. But there is only one prototype…black women! I so love the skin that I am in! Please Believe!

What is your favorite quote?
“So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.”
